Floral Arrangement

I've had this new shelf in my room for about six months now and I still haven't finished filling it with stuff to decorate.  I have all these ideas in my head but it's just taking me some time to actually get to it.  One thing I did was make my first floral arrangement.  The vase that my Valentine's day flowers came in was perfect to reuse so I went to Michael's and bought some flowers that I thought would go well together.  I also bought one of those green styrofoams to keep everything in place.  Here's how it turned out.  I definitely want to create more floral arrangements once I get my own place.  Hopefully a picture of my shelf soon when it's all complete.

Truffle Mac n Cheese

Recently, I've been obsessed with mac n cheese.  Before this though, I disliked it very much.  As a kid I've had the kraft mac n cheese and just always thought it was too cheesy.  Just too much for me.  However, recently when I've gone out to dinner, someone in the group will order mac n cheese if the restaurant has it and it taste so much better than the kraft kind.  Maybe because it's not just the usual cheddar that's used.  There's usually more than one type of cheese, breadcrumb, bacon or something else that gives it that extra kick.  I decided to try making it myself and followed this recipe.  I adjusted the recipe to my own liking by adding onions, pancetta, and blue cheese.  To top it off, I added truffle oil, which I love!

Lavo Brunch

Here's another Vegas post.  What made this trip so much fun was Lavo Brunch.  Since there's no pool parties at this time of year, most people don't have much to do during the day time.  Lavo came up with a brilliant idea to do a brunch where they also have a DJ playing music and you can get a table with bottles if you'd like.  This was definitely a different experience from pool parties and quite possibly even better.  It was so much fun that some of us were too tired and didn't even make it out for the nighttime event.  I had so much trouble figuring out what to wear for this.  I knew it wasn't a club so I didn't want to be too fancy but it's Vegas so I didn't want to be too dressed down.  I finally came up with an outfit that I thought was brunch/party appropriate.  I like it so much that I can't wait to wear it again.  Maybe mix it up a bit though.

IT'S A PARTY IT'S A PARTY IT'S A PARTY!

This past weekend I went to Vegas for a friend's birthday.  We stayed at Palazzo and got our two suites upgraded to two hospitality suites with our own patio.  I have to say, it was pretty awesome.  We opened the adjoining doors and it was like having one huge room to party in.  At this time of year, Vegas doesn't have the nicest sunny weather.  I'm always unsure of what to pack and like always, I pack more than I really need.  Let's just say, if I told you how much I packed, you'd think I was staying in Vegas for a week, not a weekend.  In my defense, it's nice to have options.
